Terms of Service

Last updated: January 2026

The Short Version

I build websites. You pay for them. We both treat each other fairly. These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland.

Payment Terms

  • 50% deposit required to begin work
  • 50% balance due upon completion, before site goes live
  • Payment via bank transfer or PayPal
  • Invoices are due within 7 days

What's Included

  • Custom website design and development
  • Mobile-responsive layout
  • 3 rounds of revisions
  • Basic training on how to update your site
  • 1 week of post-launch support
  • Google submission for search indexing

What's Not Included

  • Domain registration (I can help you set this up)
  • Hosting fees (typically £5-10/month, I recommend providers)
  • Stock photos or custom photography
  • Ongoing maintenance (available as £35/month add-on)
  • Content writing (you provide the text, I can help refine it)

Revisions

You get 3 revision rounds included in every project. A revision round is a single batch of changes sent together. Additional revisions are charged at £40/hour.

Timeline

Most projects take 5-7 working days. This depends on you providing content and feedback promptly. Delays on your end may extend the timeline. I'll always keep you informed of progress.

Ownership

Once paid in full, you own your website completely. You can host it wherever you like and make any changes you want. I retain the right to showcase it in my portfolio unless you request otherwise in writing.

Refunds

The 50% deposit is non-refundable once work begins. If you're unhappy with the direction, we'll work together to fix it within your revision rounds. In the unlikely event we can't reach agreement, I'll refund a fair portion based on work completed.

Cancellation

Either party can cancel with 14 days written notice. You'll pay for work completed up to that point. Any deposit paid covers initial consultations, planning, and work started.

Maintenance Package

The optional £35/month maintenance includes: up to 3 content updates, weekly backups, security monitoring, and priority support. No minimum contract—cancel with 14 days notice.

Disputes

If we have a disagreement, let's talk about it first. Most issues can be resolved with a simple conversation. If we can't resolve it, these terms are governed by Scots law and disputes will be handled in Scottish courts.
